Small, sharp apps. Made to measure.

We're an independent studio in Austin. We make focused, private iPhone apps, and plain-dealing Shopify apps for the back office of a small store. Each one starts as a real problem, ours or a merchant's, and ends as a tool that does one job well.

What we do

Native, private, and finished.

No cross-platform shells, no feature sprawl, no ad networks. On the iPhone that means Swift, top to bottom. In Shopify it means an app that lives inside your own admin. Either way, we ship when it does the job.

01

Native to the platform

SwiftUI, HealthKit, StoreKit, Vision and on-device Apple Intelligence on the iPhone. In Shopify, apps embedded in your admin and built with Polaris, Shopify's own design system, with no separate login and no scripts on your storefront. We use what each platform gives us, so the tools feel like they belong there, and the iPhone ones keep working when the network doesn't.

02

Private by design

Your data stays on your device wherever the job allows, and when something has to leave it, the privacy label says exactly what and why. Our Shopify apps ask for the narrowest permissions that do the job and delete everything they hold within 48 hours of uninstall. No trackers, no selling, no surprises.

03

Honest pricing

Pay once, or pay a fair subscription for things that cost us money to run. On Shopify, flat monthly plans with a free trial and no per-event overage fees: a busy month earns you a banner, never a stopped sync. No dark patterns, no fake urgency, cancel in two taps. If an app earns a dollar, it's because it did something for you.

The iPhone apps

Four problems, four tools.

Every one of these began as something that annoyed us enough to fix properly.

    Calorie & macro log

Scan a barcode, a nutrition label or the front of the box and let the phone do the typing. See your day, your week, and how friends are doing.

  • Hale

    Air quality monitor

A companion for AirGradient monitors: live readings and history for the air in your home, widgets for your Lock Screen, alerts when something changes, and Siri when your hands are full.

  • Isomoira

    Money for households

Shared budgets for couples and households, built so each person keeps their privacy. Bills, buckets and the question that matters: what's safe to spend this week.

    Private beta
  • Citeless

The Shopify apps

The unglamorous jobs, done properly.

Bookkeeping, inventory, the waitlist and the customs paperwork, for Shopify stores. Each of these began in the one-star reviews of the apps merchants already pay for, and each does one job with a log you can read and a flat price that doesn't punish a good month.

  • Ledgerline for QuickBooks

    Orders to QuickBooks Online

Every paid order posted to QuickBooks Online as its own Sales Receipt, matched by SKU, with the tax Shopify actually collected and a plain-English line for what happened to each one. Unknown SKUs wait for you instead of landing on a catch-all.

  • Stockwatch

    Inventory audit & alerts

A record of every stock change at every location, who or what made it, and an alert within minutes when stock is set to zero, drops in bulk or goes negative. Read-only by design: it asks for no permission that could change a quantity.

    Coming soon
  • Restocked

    Back-in-stock alerts

A Notify me button on sold-out variants, and an email the moment the variant is genuinely buyable again, re-checked as it sends. Flat price, unlimited alerts, and a subscriber list that's yours on every plan.

  • Customs Desk

    Customs paperwork

Commercial invoices, USMCA certificates and packing lists as PDFs, built from the HS codes, origins and weights already in your catalog. Print one from the order, or let it run when an international order ships.

Where we're from

Austin, Texas.

30.27° N, 97.74° W

Taylored Labs is a Texas LLC run from Austin. It's a one-founder studio with a short list of collaborators, which is the point: small enough that every decision is made by someone who uses the app.

The city shows up in the work. Citeless exists because of a parking ticket on East 6th. Hale exists because of cedar season. If you've lived here, you'll recognize the problems.

Why we do it

Most apps are built to hold your attention. We'd rather build tools that give your time back.

That means apps with a clear job and an ending: you log the meal, you check the air, you send the letter, you post the day's orders, you put the phone down. It means pricing you can explain to a friend. And it means saying no to anything that would make an app better for us and worse for you.

We think there's room for software made this way, the way a good tailor makes a jacket: to fit one person well, with the seams on the inside and nothing you didn't ask for.
